Background
Dr. Frankel has been in private practice since 1983. His areas of special interest include:
Dr. Frankel has been the author/co-author of studies published in the following peer-reviewed journals: Cancer; Archives of the Oral Biology; Journals of Oral Pathology; Surgery, Gynecology & Obstetrics; and Surgical Endoscopy; and American Surgeon. He co-authored the chapter "Education in Surgical Practice" in Medical Education: A Surgical Perspective. He has received several awards for his dedication to teaching the general surgery residents and medical students at Abington Memorial Hospital including the Thomas L. Dent Award in 2003. He is a Fellow of the American Medical Association, the Pennsylvania Medical Society, and the Metropolitain Chapter of the American College of Surgeons. He was President of the Medical Staff from 1993-94 and served as the Chairman of the Professional Advisory Committee of Abington Home Care from 1991–2004.
Dr. Frankel enjoys golfing, traveling, biking, and going to the theatre to see musicals, plays, and operas.
