Background
A member of the American Medical Association and Society of Critical Care Medicine, Dr. Bertozzi is board certified in general surgery and surgical critical care. She joined Surgical Care Specialists in 2019. She is certified in the fundamentals of endoscopic surgery and laparoscopic surgery. Throughout her medical education, she has been involved with leadership committees, global health organizations, and international service.
She has published articles and done research on the topics of Off-Label Use of Epoprostenol as Inhaled Pulmonary Vasodilatory for Pulmonary Hypertension and Right Ventricular Dysfunction Protocol, SATIRE Trial, developing protocols for reporting incidental findings found during workup for trauma, the link between PPI use and C. difficile infection, and the effect of herbicides on Toxoplasma gondii. She also worked on research with the pediatric emergency department at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia analyzing the efficacy of asthma medications in children.
She is currently involved in the Practice Committee for review of Surgical ICU patients and Trauma patients. Dr. Bertozzi has presented at multiple conferences including Day of Trauma, Philadelphia, and the International Trauma Conference.
