Your first visit to Surgical Care Specialists establishes a vital foundation for our relationship. Prior to and during this visit, we will obtain important background information. To help understand what to expect, please read through the following instructions, including maps and directions, practice hours, payment policies, and more.
Appointments
To best facilitate getting the correct patient to the correct surgeon for your needs we ask that you call the office to speak to one of our team to make your appointment. If you are unable to keep a scheduled appointment or will be delayed, please let us know, and we will work to accommodate the changes in your schedule. In order to be considered other patients, charges may be incurred for appointments canceled less than 24 hours prior to the scheduled appointment time.
Your First Visit
When you schedule your appointment with our practice, we ask for basic information including your email address. The email address allows us to arrange access for you to our secure patient portal. You will receive an email with a login and temporary password and can then complete many of our registration and history forms, request or change appointments, update demographics, and have access to visit details. If you prefer not to complete registration on the portal in advance of your visit, please arrive in the office at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled time of your appointment. Our physicians are able to view any prior testing that you had performed in the Jefferson Health System, except the Einstein hospitals which are not yet digitally integrated. If you had any testing at Einstein or any other institution, it is essential to mail or drop off the CD of your images no later than 3 days prior to your visit.
Directions
From Center City Philadelphia
Take Route I-95 north to exit for Route 73 (Cottman Avenue). Follow Route 73
(which becomes Township Line Road) and turn right when you reach Old York
Road (Route 611 North). Jefferson Abington Hospital is located a few minutes
further north on your left.
From the Pennsylvania Turnpike
Take exit 343, Willow Grove. Go south on Route 611 (Old York Road) for about
four miles; the hospital will be on your right.
Parking
You can park in either the Woodland Garage located at Highland and Woodland Avenues or use the Highland Avenue Valet Parking entrance located immediately outside the Buerger Building.
Our general surgery office is located on the 6th floor of the Price Medical Building - from the Woodland Garage level G will take you into the hospital. After lobby check-in, take the first set of elevators, which will be behind you, to the 6th floor. Our office is to your left.
Our Vascular office is located on the first floor of the Buerger Building. From the Woodland Garage exit on level G to the hospital and continue until you see the information desk. You will turn right at the information desk and exit the hospital. Our entrance is to your left, next to the valet parking.
Lansdale Office
The Lansdale Vascular office is located at Lansdale Hospital 125 Medical Campus Drive Suite 205, Lansdale, PA 19446. We are located on the 2nd floor of the Medical Arts Building across the parking lot from the Emergency Room. You can reach the hospital either from Line Street or Broad Street.
Financial Responsibility and Insurance
Our office accepts a variety of HMOs, PPOs, and other health plans. When you call, we will be happy to confirm your coverage. Per your insurer’s contract, copays are due at the time of the visit. We accept cash, check, Mastercard, Visa, and Discover. If referrals are required by your insurance company, it is the patient's responsibility to secure referrals in order to be seen.
