Dr. Nussbaum is Board Certified in General Surgery and is a fellowship trained Surgical Oncologist. His area of special surgical interest is in the surgical treatment of cancer with a particular focus on:

  • Gastrointestinal Cancer - Using advanced laparoscopic techniques when appropriate
  • Breast Cancer
  • Melanoma
  • Thyroid Cancer

Dr. Nussbaum was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society in medical school. His devotion to surgical education has been recognized by his receiving teaching awards from the University of Pennsylvania, Temple University School of Medicine, and Abington Jefferson Health. Dr. Nussbaum has had several articles published in such peer-reviewed journals as Current Surgery, The Journal of Abdominal Surgery, The Journal of Gastroenterology, The Journal of Pancreatology, and The Journal of Surgical Research.

Dr. Nussbaum is a member of the Society of Surgical Oncology, the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, the Charles B. Puestow Surgical Society, the Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract, and the American Society of Breast Surgeons.

Dr. Nussbaum is married with four grown children. His interests include tennis, cycling, traveling, and cooking.
