Background

Dr. Parsons is board certified in General Surgery and Vascular Surgery with more than 15 years experience in private practice. He is skilled in both vascular and endovascular procedures (minimally invasive techniques performed within vessels). His areas of special interest include:

  • Endovascular treatment of thoracic and abdominal aneurysm
  • Carotid surgery and stenting
  • Peripheral vascular disease surgery and stenting
  • Dialysis access
  • Varicose vein treatment

Dr. Parsons has been author/co-author of over 40 papers published in peer reviewed journals, including the Annals of Surgery, Annals of Thoracic Surgery, Annals of Vascular Surgery, Journal of Endovascular Surgery, Surgical Endoscopy, and the World Journal of Surgery. Dr. Parson has contributed chapters to several textbooks, including Inflammatory and Thrombotic Problems in Vascular Surgery, Advances in Vascular Surgery, the International Course Book of Peripheral Vascular Intervention, and Surgical Clinics of North America. He has been the author/co-author of several vascular studies presented at local, national, and international meetings, including the Annual Clinical Congress of the American College of Surgeons, American Heart Association, Association for Academic Surgery, Eastern Vascular Society, 8th International Congress on Ultrasound of the Breast, Joint Meeting of the Society of Vascular Surgery and the Internaltional Society for Cardiovascular Surgery, Peripheral Vascular Surgery Society, Society of University Surgeons, and the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons. Dr. Parsons is a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery, Inc., with special certification in Vascular Surgery.

Dr. Parsons enjoys traveling with his wife and practicing yoga. He enjoys skiing in the Rockies, especially Jackson Hole, as it presents a good amount of challenge. He also enjoys scuba diving, and his dive instructers were the Navy SEALs.
